Turners Top Tips
- If you are packing yourself, use smaller boxes for books and heavier items.
- Put aside any important items such as car keys, passports and legal documents so they are easily accessible
- Try and make sure you fill a box to the top as this will prevent it from crushing if stacked.
- Tape the bottom of the box two or three times to make sure nothing falls out.
- When self-dismantling your furniture, keep the nuts and bolts safe and close to hand
- If you have pictures/mirrors that cannot fit in a box, leave them to our team and we will wrap them for you.
- Declutter - try not to pack anything that you no longer need, try and figure out before you start packing what to get rid of, keep, sell or donate.
- Invest in quality moving boxes as they're sturdier and more reliable. Take a look at our high quality packing materials.
- Start packing early, packing always takes longer than expected.
- The loft is a good place to start packing first.
- Do not forget to label your boxes, which room they are from and what items are in the box.
- Stack plates on their sides and wrap individually.
- Take pictures of electronics - having pictures will make it easier to set up your TV or monitor when you are setting up again.
- Any storage container or luggage bag can be put to use by filling with clothes, towels and shoes.
